Seems my old LR 2.25L engine has about seen it better days and needs a rebuild. (See my other thread in Towing a land rover?). I have about 95,000 miles on engine and recent compression check shows 100 PSI with a vacuum of only 7 pounds. Mechanic suggested timing gear and piston rings replaced. Would also have the head milled for an 8:1 ratio as well. RN says I should have 145 lbs min. compression, even better with 8:1 at 160 PSI. I live in Louisiana and looking for LA, TX or MS shop.
Will also contact HLRC in Houston for comments.
Thanks in advance, Regan
