What is your experience with Weber 32/36 DGAV carbs?

Hi to all of you, my best wishes for the new year.

I have a 1969 lightweight RHD with a Weber 32/36 DGAV carb and a Pierce manifold.

It never misses to start, the coldest we get here is about 40ºF, it is very strong, never hesitates, but... only yields about 8 mpg in city driving.

If any of you has a similar arrangement, I would like to know your experience and, if possible, jet sizes and other carb fine tuning tips.

    Thank you in advance.

    Cheers,

    Gilberto

I have one on my SIII with a standard 2.25 from a 69 truck. It gets almost 17mpg on trips. I do not know what it has for jets, came with truck and has been trouble free (hope I didn't open pandoras box here). Starts well, runs good.

Im running one on my 77.

Runs rich and has a flat spot. I need to find someone who knows how to tune it.

I like it, but im sure i would love it if it was tuned properly.

The Pierce was designed specifically for that carb, but out of the box, the carb comes with main jets too big. Almost all I have seen are running very rich and low fuel milage. They load up if left to idle too long. I have a list of webber jets around here somewhere. It was time to clean off my desk anyway, so I'll have a look-see.

pierce manifold has a list of jets available for most weber carbs. They are also quite knowledgable about weber carbs.

Hi Gilberto! Well since we last spoke I called Pierce. They suggested to run the weber with the sync-link. I actually am in the middle of rejetting my carb. I'll give you you my feedback shortly.

                Nice of you to reply

                Thank you.
I will continue fiddling with jet sizes, I will decrease little by little and see how it goes.
                I will keep you posted.

                Cheers,

I had one in my Jeep years ago, could not find any "good tuning info" (pre innernet days) so I replaced it with a 2BBL Holley. Sorry that's what it came down to for my situation!

Thank you all for your comments, I will continue fiddling with jet sizes.
As I am in Mexico, supply of spares is difficult, today I went to a spare parts store, they have new old stock Rochester carbs for about $ 300 which seems high to me.
Thank you and have a nice weekend.

                    Cheers,
