Difference between ii and iia chassis

I know the iia and iii chassis are the same, except some tub brackets and the gearbox x-member. However, the series II and IIA are almost identical. So the question is will a 1960 series II chassis be an exact match to a 1967 chassis with no modification or will I need to move some things around in order to make my late IIA body fit on the Series II chassis. Thanks in advance!

    Hi Jason.
    Look at this:

I wish I had a galvanised chassis like these.

    Cheers from Mexico,

Im pretty sure there are differences between a 2 and 2A with respect to the E-brake mounting brackets.

there is definitely a difference between IIA and III on the way the Ebrake linkage mounts. I need to find the IIA brackets as my III ones wont work. Looks like the handle assembly will bolt up just fin but the mount near the transmission on the frame rail is different. I'd just drill it for the III stuff but the drive train is all bolted in.

RN offers this kit for Series II's, so a Series IIa/III frame will work :-

Sorry, no pix at the present !

Thanks Les! I'm putting a SII frame under an SIIA body, so, as I understand it, it should be a direct swap...the trans brake lever may be an issue but that's it.

I have a galvanized series III chassis I'm trying to put under my 1960 SII. I have not been looking forward to modifying the series III chassis to fit my needs. Want to trade chassis? I'm in Louisville, KY.

                  Gant,

The differences between the IIA and III are about the same and the II and III and I am no fabricator, which is why I avoided the SIII chassis. I've got a SII frame coming from Ike, and it should need little or no changes to fit my needs. Sorry, man. Best of luck!
