I powder coated my axel flanges and one of the four is different. It came off the rear axel. I looked through my books and can't seem to figure out what this allen screw is used for. I wouldn't be as confused if more than just one flange had it. Any thoughts?

thanks,

Mason

Ok, I tweeked the photo it was very dark on my computer. It's the fill hole for adding 90WT to the hub. As I recall this was on the older flanges, or it could be that this is on the newer ones. My 1966 109 has them on all of the original hubs.

Thanks, I had a feeling that's what it was for. I wonder, since my 109 is a 1970 IIA if that is the original flange or are the other 3?

Oil filler hole when servicing bearings called for initial fill with EP90. Later practice was changed to packing bearing in grease for initial ass'y.
When the change over, I dunno:confused:
On a 1970, the one with the filler hole would be from an older unit.
