Pegasus, UK has started production of Series Bulkheads. They have established Land Rover Salvage, Madoc Ontario, Canada as their Dealer on this side of the Pond. The First production run is for Series II & IIA 2.25L. A very limited run for the Bulkhead used in the 2.6L NADA will start shortly. If you need a Bulkhead for either Model I recommend you take steps to get on the waiting list. I have been waiting a year.

TNTLR has 2 & 2a's....And there is a nice SIII on ebay.

There's a II in Vancouver, WA that's been sandblasted & new footwells installed (picture is too small to tell how much work remains before it'd be usable):

And here's the nice III that's on eBay:

I know that the D90 bulkhead can be used on the Series III and I've seen photos, but never seen an explanation of the exact differences (if any). Anyone know the details there?

Morgant,

The Defender bulkhead footwells have a flatter floor area than the Series, don't have the windscreen pivots, and have a different opening around the transmission tunnel. The fittings are also metric. Demensionally, it is very close to the SIII bulkhead and bolts right in place on the same mounts.

I have one on my SIII 88. The flatter floor means that the vertical area at the front of the footwell is about 6 inches in height, instead of the 3 inches on a Series. I don't think that it is an issue on LHD trucks, but on a RHD truck the 6 inch area on the bulkhead needs to be notched in order the clear the arm on the steering box as it moves rearward. You just need to duplicate the Series demensions in that area. I think the bolt on Defender windscreen brackets can be made to work with the SIII windscreen. I never got around to it... I welded the Series tunnel adapter to the one from the Defender and filled in the gaps. I think the Series lower dash pad will fit right on the Defender bulkhead. I know that some trucks have a bump out in the center of the bulkhead that protrudes on the interior side of the bulkhead, and some lower dash pads (Defender?) don't have a cut out in this area.

I'm going to convert the bulkhead to a SIIA type, and will just weld the SIIA type windscreen pivot brackets onto the door posts. There are a number of other changes needed, too.

Thanks! Exactly the list of differences I was looking for!
