Anybody know how much a striped bulkhead and 88 frame weighs?

stripped or striped :D A bare bulkhead with fresh paint like the one sitting in my living room weighs less than 100 lbs. I can pick it up and carry it myself so I am pretty sure its in the 50 to 75 lb range.

I don't think that's right. Two people can carry one.

I want to say I heard it from someone at RN, so I may very well be wrong. I've got to pull mine next weekend, so I hope I am.

A stock frame, no way. Agreed, two guys can carry it. A galvanized frame is heavier, but again we move them with two guys.

I can slide a stock frame by myself and I can flip one over sideways with some effort. I'd guess they weigh between 300 and 500 lbs as two of us have picked one up before without really struggling too much. The galvanizing could add another 50 lbs or more to the weight.

I can carry a frame by myself, must weigh something like 85-90 lbs. ;)

Agreed. No way does the frame weigh over 125lbs. The biggest problem is it's awkward. But I've moved mine around plenty of times on my own. I do recommend a helper (or an engine hoist) to get it in place on the frame.

I am apparently WAY off base here! Thanks for the correction (and the confidence)! Now I can get my friends son and friend to yank the old frame while I drink a guinness and "supervise" :)

125lbs sounds a little optimistic.

I appreciate you guys narrowing it down for me to some rough numbers of between 85-750 lbs
Were I was going with this was trying to get an idea of how much it was going to cost to have them galvanized.I was told it was based on weight .Can you fellas give me a rough idea what it may cost for frame ,bulkhead, breakfast ,and other assorted bits.
If there is any thoughts on preping such as bracing or "I wish I had" you want to share Or If this has all been cover maybe point me to a link.
Cheers

Based on what I have seen posted previously I recall it being around 350 pounds.

just to clarify...i was talking about the bulkhead alone. I don't heft frames around the garage...despite my mighty guns.
