After this winter I have found a good amount of rust on the area next to the rear wheel well where the door closes. What kind of advice/experience has everyone had when getting this repaired. I am not looking to attempt this myself. Anything is appreciated.

Thanks,

Hello there,

A common failing on the D I's and Classic Range Rovers.
There is a repair panel available for this, MWC4841 LH and MWC4840 RH,
This is listed for a DI, though it works for the Classics as well.
Sorry no current pix available, the alternative is to cut the bad out and weld some repair pieces in. Again, sorry no pix :(

You might want to look at the rest of it before deciding to have it fixed. Lift up the carpets and rear floor cover. The floors, toe boards, rockers, rear floor, rear wheel arches, rear seatbelt mounts...they all tend to rust in these areas. If rusty in these other areas the vehicle may not be worth repairing. On the other hand if it's just the door jam that you see it's a relatively easy fix, probably expensive to have someone else do it right though.
