who else registered so far? I will register after i fly home for the summer. I have two finals left between me and the end of freshman year...
despite my circumstances last year was a ton of fun, all around great weekend.

If anyone is interested we can do some off roading on saturday, however the trails are about a 50 minute drive from the rocky neck camp ground unless i find something closer. Let me know if there is interest.

Aaron thanks for posting this up here!

Correct me if I am wrong but were you actually driving "in" a stream channel?

perhaps a small pond.... one side has a rocky bottom and is fairly shallow, the other side was much deeper with a very soft, muddy bottom.

This weekend was a blast, thanks to everyone that made the trip down, and Aaron for getting the word out!

Between my brother and I we have many videos and pictures I'll be editing and posting up some time this week, here a few in the mean time:

Yeah, Made it home no sweat. I actually passed a few cars on the way back, although I did have a pretty good tail wind :D
Had a great time as well. Rob ,thanks for 4x4 tour and to you all for a superb weekend.
Anybody up for a meet up in the Adirondacks, say some were second or third weekend in August 13, 14 or 20, 21. Rob when are you heading back out to school? Or if thats too much of a hike for some ,I gladly host a weekend on my property down here in the Catskills.

Sorry I missed the trails. The show was fun and was good to see some folks again.
Sean, I'd be up for something. I don't know much about the Adirondacks but a minute in the woods beats a day at work any time! Is your wife all rovered out? Mine can relate......

Yeah, I think she had enough. Not sure if its her last trip or not. I think its the Interstate at 65 mph with no seatbelts no airbags and door latches that would n't stay closed that frayed her nerves .Shes a real trooper though and I'm glad to have her along (just in case she reads this ).
As far as another outting I'll keep kicking this around and see what kind of interest might form among the others.

Yup, made it home in 2 hours 17 min. .... Must have had a tail wind.
I would like to thank you all for a great weekend and a very relaxing time. I had expectations of a very boring trip and many breakdowns. Whilst sitting about the fire ring sat nite and looking around at the friends and leaking rovers, the faint odour of hypoid and burning dump cake in the air it occurred to me that THESE ARE the good old times. No stress, belly full of charred burger , bum sore from flat rover seat, kidneys slightly bruised from trail riding. Who could ask for more.
The weather could not have been any better. The stars were out and George the series 3 was in top form.
If the at the car show didn't know a great truck when they saw it, oh well. Chrome never got any one home...
Thanks to all , everybody had a hand in this weekend and it was the highlight of my year so far.
I will scout out some class 6 roads up here for an outing. The Unity trail is about 12 miles long but should pose no major issue. Some good camp sites as well..... AND NO TAX ,.... AND NO CT. OUT OF STATE SUR CHARGES......
Cheers to the lot of ya.
Kris . ( MacGyver):p

I can't find the BBTS results anywhere...anyone know who placed in the Land Rover classes?

Surely your (jac04) air-portable must have placed in SOME category!?

rwollschlager

nels anderson, Dan H (Landy67), and i think Jason, (I Leak Oil) i believe placed in the rover to '67 category.

in the rover '68+ category, I forget the order, but IIRC the red 110 placed first, Jac04's lightweight placed 2nd, and I took home 3rd with my scruffy, muddy, and dented 88.

possibly, unfortunately it suffers from needsaframe-syndrome and subsequently hasn't moved in over year, my dad nor myself currently have the time to do the swap so it will be off the road for quite some time before we get around to fixing it, that is if it doesnt sell first.

I'm pretty sure the red 110 and Jeff's lightweight received all the votes in my class, I registered two trucks this year and used both ballots to vote for my 88, probably the only two votes it got :D

HEY! I have a coiler too ya know, and we have feelings too. It gets on pefectly fine with my 88. In fact my 110 took 1st two years ago so I didn't go so the leafers had a better chance. As I recall Rob, you took 2nd in '09, so you're gonna have to start building a china cabinet

and our "UN" 109 took second last year.

I finally finished editing the footage my brother took from saturday, not much, but its done, and yes, yes that was someone in their mom's taurus that decided to come out and play with the rovers.

I don't know about the
'gentleman' part, but Yes, That was my son and me. I remember we met while walking in. We were admiring a freshly painted bronze green 88. Jeez you have a good memory. That has to be 13-14 years ago, when my son was restoring his M38.
