None of that seems really bizarre to me. If they had done their homework they would have shown:
1. Rover with no leaking oil
2. Rover with no rust
3. Rover with a girlfriend in it that doesn't hate it
4. Rover that doesn't smell
5. Rover with a larger engine
6. Rover with good seat belts
7. Rover with intact window tracks
8. Rover that hasn't needed intensive preventative maintenance
9. Rover that doesn't have any scratches
10. Rover with safe fuse system

I think the one that was armored up but then put on train tracks would have been a good choice.
