in attempting to measure the length of the pushrod on the clutch slave cylinder, i have come across this plate. it fit between the slave and the mounting bracket effectively acting as a spacer. i can find no mention of this part in the green book, and don't know if its supposed to be there, or if it was added by a previous owner to take up some slack on the clutch or something.
the diagram in the green book that explains how to measure length of the pushrod in vague at best, showing a drawing that says to measure between the nut, and some unknown area above it, and this plate further complicates things.
it is 1/4" thick, and does not appear to be home made. it appears to have been stamped out rather than cut or drilled.
the truck is a '67 88".

My 66 has the same spacer, so I'd say is is original.

Okay. I took it out, and it made no difference to my ongoing clutch issues, so I put it back. It does look factory, but I don't see it in diagrams, nor is it mentioned in the green book.

It looks like some kind of spacer the factory put in,they did the same thing with door latch catchers, I have seen it tearing down my 65 for it's rebuild. Save it.

Don't get rid of it. That is an original part. It's official title is Packing Piece, but yeah, it's just a spacer. It's for a 9.5 "diaphragm spring clutch". Don't know how important it is really, but I put mine back after rebuilding the clutch slave. Part # is 544686
