Hi thanks for a minute
Could someone point a thread out that has this outlined on what and how this is done
most threads start out good though go a diffrent direction before the results ever evolve
it is a 1974 series iii exmilitary bought from here
would like some ideas or help finding how to do this as the reading can be endless if no direction can be found
thank you for a minute of your time

Put only the disco disk or the entire axle?

what my idea is to put the newer discovery axles in place of the old ones getting the 3.54s and disk brakes.

I can't remember any specific threads on this exact project but it should be pretty straight forward.
-Remove the coiler brackets from the axles.
-Put the axles in place and when you're happy with their placement, weld the new spring perches in place.
-The steering has to be addressed. Easiest way I've see it done is to modify the knuckle end of the drag link and tie rod to accept a rod end. Stack them up and mount them both into the single hole on the front steering arm.
-Hook up your new brake lines.
-Make sure your drive shafts still fit correctly.

That's about it in a nut shell.

been trying to read the UK forms on this
kinda figured some out like you mentioned on mounting.. less the steering idea and drive shaft angle
forget the wording they use though they refer to the angle of the props/drivre shafts quite a bit for correct fit
do you know of a swap in the tie rods and drag link from something else that would work they mentioned once about swaping right for left, there's are I guess right hand drive putting left hand drive links at best as I can figure
