    Winter Project

The elves brought me something the other day, direct from Bristol:

Not pictured: a military lt77, ashcroft adapter for the t-case, new radiator, new intercooler, new clutch, and lots and lots of parts for the rebuild.

My wife is starting a two-year program at school this fall, and we have an informal bet that I can't finish this project before she graduates. Given it took me a week just to find time to move the thing from the pickup bed to the garage, my odds are looking a little long right now...

Looks great is it a 200 or 300 TDI?

300tdi - since I'm using the lt77 w/ the ashcroft adapter, and I'd have to redo the engine mounts even if I kept the old engine, the only issue I'm really worried about is length.

        The question not asked....

I hate to ask... But I must...... How much delivered to your door?
My engine is fine but I am looking long term and very interested in a Tdi swap.

The engine & rebuild kit was about $3,400, the transmission & adapter was about $2,000. Plus about $600 for the customs agent. I got it from Duncan at http://landroverimport.com, and he was very helpful. There was a little snafu with shipping where the whole thing got sent to Seattle by mistake, but he was great about taking care of it and getting it moved to Portland. They won't actually deliver to your door, so you either need a friend/workplace with a dock, or do what I did and just drive out to the warehouse and pick it up there.

I was looking at using them as well and spoke with Duncan, but I bought a 200TDI here in Canada for a good price. I hope to have it in my 109 by November. Good luck on your project.
