I recently purchase a 83' 109 ex MOD with 15" wheels. I need to replace the tires. Ideally I was hoping to use 33x9.5 but can't seem to find them in production any more. 33x10.5s are available but i am a little worried about additional stress onnthe steering components. The rover will not see speeds over 50mph and it off roading will be limited to the beach. What are your thoughts and sugestions? I don't want to have to buy 16" wheels if I don't have to.

I would purchase a set of 16" wheels and put some 235/85-16's on them. i have a buddy that is building a Land Cruiser. We have been trying to find 33x10.5x15 BFG's for it. They are just not out there right now! We have looked all over the country. BFG is just not producing 15" tires right now. I would have never thought! I believe so many guys are building trucks with 17" or larger rims, the market is shifting to accommodate that that rim size. Go with the 16's.

on an ex-mod 109 you should be able to run 33x10.5 with no problems. I run 32x10.5 on my civilian 88 and it gives me no troubles.

You can still get the BFG's.
