Hello, member for years, very few posts.

Not strictly a series question but I have installed the Scout II aginaw power steering in my SII 109 and have it on good authority that the Dicovery I pitman arm has the same spline.
It seems to fit but I'd love to be sure.

Anyone know?

Here I am mucking about with it.

You'll want to jump ahead to about 4:36 to get to the relevant part.

I've also asked on Pirate, so I apologise if this is considered a cross post.

Cheers
Peter

FWIW it doesn't make me cross at all!

Pitman arm - According to Jeff Bigs, a Discovery I pitman arm will work on the Scout II power steering pump. The splines are the same as the Scout box (less the 3,6,9,12 keying), is the appropriate length, and is already tapered for a Rover tie rod end. Alternatively, you can cut the pitman arm that comes with the Scout steering box down to the correct length and thickness then drill and ream it to fit a series Rover tie rod end. The distance between the hole centres should be no longer than 8-1/2 inches. 7-1/2 inches measured centre hole to centre hole works well.

I feel like it's rare that TeriAnn is wrong.

Thanks Tony,

I'd seen that, and yes, TAW is well informed.
I guess I just wanted some first person experience, which I've found and it's all good.

Cheers

They will fit but some can be tight. Don't crank down on te securing nut until you know it will go all the way home as it is a pig to get back off for a little fettling.

Precisely my concern.
