I have a series 3 dual cylinder and the tank seem to have deteriorated by the the sun UV-turning into dust-the cap is gone and the tank is developing weakness ,also from UV. The MC was replaced about 4 years ago,not that old,but this will be a continual issue since the tank is sort of exposed. Question,is there a metal tank replacement MC,or has anyone fabricated something ?

You may want to try the MC from a 1985 LTD or early dodge dakota. My understanding its the ford requires a slight mod to the pushrod, but has a metal reservoir. I think the ssis is a direct swap. The bore it slightly larger so would give a stiffer pedal. Im converting from single circuit to dual power and going to try the dakota MC since its like $40. The LTD one is $25, but I suck at fabricating. -
Don't have an answer for you, I'm afraid, but I'm curious how your brake MC is being exposed to so much UV light...Is the bonnet off?--Mark

Dual Question
Is there an upgrade to the III series brakes to make it a dual master cylinder? Can this be put into my IIa 6 cylinder 109? My series III 1974 has all new brake upgreades and I was going to sell it as it needs a frame. But it has a engine, tranny and overdrive work and all new brake upgrades so I can swap into my IIa.
