I just purchased and attempted to intall the Proline BRAKE FLEX HOSE SER.IIA FRONT, Part # PLE605 on my 1971 IIa Ex Mod 109. Due to the width of the male fitting of the hose that attaches to the wheel cylinder, I am unable fasten that nut the secures the wheel cylinder to the back plate. I tried everything I can think of and had an additional set of eyes with no luck. The genuine hose I was replacing has a much slimmer fitting and attaches with no problem. Have any of you experienced this or have any guidance?

Is the fitting on the other end of the hose the same thread pitch/flare with a smaller head?--Mark

Fitting
The male fitting lengths for the genuine and proline hoses are the same if you compare the two (sisde for side). The shorter fitting side is on the wheel cylinder side with the longer fitting being the one that runs to the supporting bracket off the chassis where it ties into the hard brake line.1971 Ex Mod IIA 109
