Light's won't turn off

Wednesday morning I discovered that my front headlights and tailights will not turn off. I've checked fuses etc. The only way to turn them off is to disconnect the battery. Could it be the lamp switch on the steering column or is there a relay to look for first? Any ideas?

The switch is the most likely fault, but there is a relay (or two) involved as well. Try taking out the lighting fuse and see if they turn off, if not, go in quest of the offending relay(s).
