So I've been plugging away at my 109 since April, and I thought I'd throw up a thread showing my progress so far, there wasn't much mechanically wrong with it, so my progress is almost entirely cosmetic.
Here it is when I brought it home:

Stripping it down for paint:

A couple after the first coat of paint:

I bet it'd look even better with the 3/4 (British) hood on!

I think you're right, and I have one in my garage, and once I've got the goal posts and gutters installed that'll be going on too.

Thanks, I did a little more last night, I took the door latches off and cut the cracked and peeling rubber off and coated them in Plasti-Dip that you use to coat the grips for tools:

Before:

After:

I think this is a great way to refurbish the grips.

I thought about doing that to my door handles too. Still might. I wonder how well that stuff holds up to the sun and the elements? Nice job

:thumb-up: I like the color, when I did my first repaint I used Rusto International Blue. This looks very much like it...nice,
Plasti-dip is also good for water proofing wiring connections. I used it to coat a splice in the pond and it was under water for several years and never failed.

Thanks, this is Rustoleum Royal Blue, after the first coat, I thought it was too bright, so I added an 1/8th of a cup of gloss black to a quart, and it toned down nicely.
