Hey all, just wondering if anyone has an analog clock in their Series?

I don't but I have an old analog clock from a Saab 96 that I plan to put in one of these days.

I've thought about adding a clock in the past but never bothered as I always wear a watch.

Not a clock, but I have a calendar in my 109 so I can time my quarter-mile runs.

My series came with an analog Smith's clock. Must have been an option as it had it's own location on the dash.

I didn't see a clock anywhere in the SIII optional parts catalog. Ammeter yes. Oil pressure gauge, yup. Clock? Nope.

The holes in the aux instrument panels are standardized in size to take standard gauges (including clocks), so you could slap any standard-size instrument you want in any of the holes.

I have one in my 68 Series IIA but it was an aftermaket along with all of the gauges in the truck. I like having it. Now if it would only keep proper time it would be better.;)

Let me guess, the clock runs slow.;)

I used a late model MGB clock that fit perfectly in the center gauge cluster of the SIII. Just painted the bezel black to match the oil pressure gauge. I really like it there, as it is easy to see (not so with the digital clock on the stereo that sits below the dash at an angle with a small display).

The other hole in the center gauge cluster has an analog altimeter in it....found one that just fit the hole....part of an optional package from a Goldwing motorcyle in the 80s I think!! Great for me.....45 minutes and I can go anywhere from 6000 to over 10000 feet!!

I have one of these sitting on a shelf at home that needs to be repaired. A friend has one mounted in his old rally car and they are very nice instruments and look proper for the period in the old vehicles. It is a wind up clock that runs for 24 or 36 hours (cannot remember which). It has a 27 volt heater on the back for those extended 40,000 ft missions and various timers for bombing runs etc. The numbers are all luminescent and probably painted with Plutonium :D they show up readily on Ebay if you search "Russian MIG clock".

Saw this thread and realized I forgot to post the pic as promised :sly:

Had to brighten it up to show the gauges a bit better.....

Late model MGB clock that I found refurbished in the UK.....$40. Fit perfectly in one of the two SIII accessory holes. I painted the bezel black to match! The middle gauge is an altimeter (actually from a Honda Gullwing 80s motorcycle deluxe package!)....fit almost perfectly and matched also I think!

Yours looks great!

Ive got a new Victorinox pocket watch sitting in my toolbox waiting for my truck to be built to use for that express purpose.

I have to wonder what useful purpose a clock in a Series Rover really serves afterall a Series is neither early nor late but arrives exactly when it is supposed to.

I think the purpose of the clock is to measure the drivers punctuality... Not the rovers. :D

Punctuality and Series Rover....do they really belong in the same sentance?;)

Seriously, I know exactly what you mean. My DD SIII is warming up almost an hour before I need be across town- 4 miles.
