I want to get a new fuel pump, just because. I have a 2.5 NAD in my 88 and it has the AC style fuel pump with an sediment bowl. I have seen some part suppliers listing a special pump for diesel that does not have the sediment bowl. What is the difference? I like the idea of having a sediment bowl. Should I give up the sediment bowl and order the pump specified for diesel engines?

I've run the AC diesel pump (no bowl) for years without poblem. Well, until I messed the pump up 6 months ago, that is.
You should be fine using just the filter/separator that I'm sure you're already using.--Mark

From what I understand the diesel lift pump with the sediment bowl is no longer made. The diesel has a stronger spring inside to produce higher pressure/volume to the fuel injector pump.
