    defender door seal question

ok so im out here this morning. it freezing.
im drilling out the old series seals.
i have a question for anyone with defender seals. the galvy capping that goes between the tub and the roof side protrudes rigt where my new seals are gonna go. do i need to cut that back? or just cut the seal. i dont want to destroy the integrity of the seal. but cutting the tub capping seems a bit harsh? heres a shot of what im talking about. im taking pics so i can post a for others in the future.
    thanks
    aaron

    just push it on there

Don't trim the lip. No need if you have strong hands and a few beers

When I did mine I carefully cut a notch in the clip portion - the rigid part that clips onto the frame - but left the seal portion intact.

        ok like this?
i didnt grind off the lip
not really going over the lip well
        kinda spreads it out
im gonna grind off the other side and compare how it goes on
