Not a whole lot of "modification" one can do with a SIII dash really, other than adding a factory auxillary panel in the center part of the dash tray OR a gauge or 2 in the front face of the dash tray in the factory spots.

There aren't really a whole lot of systems to monitor on any series rover, so having a dash that looks like a 747 flight deck isn't terribly necessary.

Mine has been "modified" by putting a bunch of miscellaneous junk in the dash tray including a first aid kit, but that's hardly picture-worthy. ;)

All I've been doing is removing airsoft pellets :)

I thought I remember someone saying that they had put vent ducts througout the dash to prevent all the air leakinig out of the rusted dash vent area. Does anyone else remember that?

Where is the guy thats from Denmark or Norway...eh, somewhere in Europe where it is cold. He mod'd up his SIII dash by running a tube to the sides that kept his side windows from fogging up.

Also, Nick's Land Rover (http://www.nickslandrover.co.uk/archives/1378) has had so much done to it that it seems better than a 110.

I know this is possibly a Defender...Lets not split hairs....

Remember, our stock alternators will be hurting to power much more.

I remembered someone posting a pretty elaborate mahogany interior in a series, not sure if it was a III or not. Ok, a little digging and it was lstrvr in this post http://www.roversnorth.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8765&page=2 but his images are gone now. It was pretty nice, not sure if google has some way of archiving that page.

Hmmm, I would disagree with that. He has stability issues that he tries to put down to 'vortex shedding'. Having both a Defender and a series that run at the speeds he quotes and are as solid as a rock I can say it is not what he thinks it is. One of his mods has generated a serious problem that he refuses to acknowledge.

I will agree that he has some pit falls in his mods. I was simply implying that most of his mods to his 109 go beyond that of stock Defenders (rear storage, diamond plating, front and rear wipers, etc...). It was a tongue in cheek comment...

Its that high dollar series that was on ebay a while back...

Here is the link to expedition portal (http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/70375-Unique-Expedition-Ready-1971-Land-Rover-Series-III) showcasing it.
