    Heater tap valve for Kodiak

Does anyone know where to find a tap valve - the one that goes on the top rear of the cylinder head - that will work with a Kodiak heater? This would be similiar to part no. 88G588L, but with a 5/8" tube to connect with the heater hose, as opposed to 1/2" on 88G588L.

    Thanks,

    Mike

Mine came a decade ago from a NAPA store. Apparently they're fairly generic.

I'm using a 5/8" valve on my Series for a Ford pickup, that I got at Advance Auto Parts. I hope this helps out. [Also, it was pretty cheap.]

All of the Kodiak valves I have seen were spliced in-line with the hose, none actually threaded into the head. Most were generic types from American pickups, as Jeff indicated.

Definitely use an inline valve! Mine was used on mid-1980's VW Golf/Rabbits. It's an inline valve actuated by a choke-style cable. Replace the heater valve at the back of the head with a thread-in hose barb (available from our hosts).
