    Oil amounts

    Hello all,
I'm preparing for a spring fluid change, does anyone know how much additional oil the oil cooler needs for a 2.25? TeriAnn's website says a normal engine needs 6 1/2 qts, so how much should I have ready to go? I don't think there is enough in the engine right now to give a good basis to go on.
    Thank you

For the INITIAL fill, I'd just have a couple of extra quarts of oil standing by, then drive it around till the oil gets hot and starts flowing throught the cooler system, then shut it down and check it/fill it to the normal line. Do this till it stabilizes.

It's been my experience on the oil-cooled 2.5D that you will not get the old oil out of the cooler plumbing and matrix during oil changes (unless you disconnect the system and blow the lines out, that is) so refill during oil changes doesn't take as much oil as one would expect.
