Does anyone know if the original Disco I steel wheels (part #NTC5193) are still available? If so, are there any vendors that have them? I get a different number from RN. I also searched this forum on Discovery Steel Wheels and did not turn up much.

I think this is the same steel wheel that was for the spare on Disco I trucks for the first few years.

I would be looking for a full set of 5. Thanks for any leads.

Is I believe what you're searching for? The RND704 number is just our item code for the genuine number.

Thanks, gents, as always for the great service!

That's certainly the style, but really looking for the gray color. Also, is that the cost per wheel? If so, not sure I can swing it, but I understand if it is special order.

Cheers,
JP

EBAY less than 50 a piece all day long in silver and black... I just bought a full set for 200 off a friend of mine who owns a Rover shop... They were spares on all early NAS Discoveries. The solid ones were never brought here but you can get them from across the pond. Same wheel standard on Defender. Wolf wheels also fit. I know everyone wants the solid wheels, but they are a bugger to clean mud out of and they do not help cool the brakes which is why the Wolfs have holes.

Where on eBay are you locating these? I only saw http://www.ebay.com/itm/LAND-ROVER-DISCOVERY-1-STEEL-ROAD-WHEEL-7-X-16-NEW-GENUINE-NTC5193PM-/251005025962?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a7110beaa#ht_3387wt_1180 which is for one. Just do a search for Land Rover Discovery steel wheels. I often see over a dozen from different people. I ran across them a lot when I was looking a few months ago... They are out there. USA EBAY ofcourse.

little high, but here is a full set http://www.ebay.com/itm/Land-Rover-Steel-Wheel-Set-/220940420159?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item337113443f&vxp=mtr

They do come around... Far, far from 500 a piece. I about fell over when I saw that price. I got a full set of 5 P38 alloys for my D2 from a Land Rover breaker near LA for 300 shipped a few years ago so I could mount Mud tires. 18 Hurricanes they put on the D2 are worthless... Flip your spare tire carrier upside down to allow the larger tire to fit. Little known secret, you do not need to spend the money for a "relocator". The way the factory mount is designed it is offset. 180 degrees and your tire mount is a few inches higher giving you clearance from the bumper to the larger tire.

It looks like you could piece a few together...

Ya, just depends on how patient one is and what they want to spend. I'll go new on some things, but a never used spare may as well be as good... Especially if they are just going to be put against rocks and stuff on a trail. I do not think too many people put steelies on that are concerned about perfect paint.

Also the 95 Classic's had these as a spare. Though they are in primer.

Found a set of 5 for $60.00 a piece :thumb-up:
