Manifold Gasket Question

I just got a manifold gasket set for my 2.6, and it appears much fancier than the old one (its genuine). There is a metallic side and I'm not sure which faces the engine block. Thanks in advance.

I may be all wet here, but I think it only goes on one way.

I assumed that as well but it is a 3 part gasket, the two ends (cylinders 1,2, 5,6) are mirror of each other and the center bit (3,4) is symmetrical. I didn't notice any differentiation, but I haven't done the swap. Just thought someone might know which side typically goes up.
