hey guys
so im getting a bikini top for my truck.
not me just the truck
since the hoop parts are so expensive. i can only buy
a couple parts at a time
could i get away with just running the front hoop and windscreen top
for a little while. or is it going to just flop all over.
thanks
aaron

I think you would need the bits around the doors as well.

Jeff,
If Aaron does not take you up on your offer I would be more than happy to purchase them. Extraordinary circumstances this summer showed me that those hoops indeed cannot support the weight of the vehicle, and mine were crushed.

Hey Aaron, when you get your bikini top, could you lay it out flat and take some pics and send them to me? I want to make myself one, but can't find a pattern.

Many of you might already have seen this, but ...

(And back up a level to their tech page for other good stuff (including bend angles for the hoops).

Oh well...I was hoping to see how they tackled the hard part--The over-door rail.

I think I have the windshield bar and perhaps the center rear hoop from a 109. Maybe a few other (I forget exactly what. It's been two years since I tried to put together an 88 hoop set from parts). If anyone is interested, ask.

...Asking about the windshield bar in a PM...

[EDIT:] That is, of course, if Aaron doesn't want/need it.

I have spares of over the windshield, over the door and behind the door parts.

Hmm...Those are exactly the parts I'm looking for. I have a local source for them, but it involves haggling with a crazy old lady who think's she's sitting on a goldmine. Rust mine, more like it...

Anyhow, If Aaron isn't interested in the parts, I might be (I haven't been keping up on his quest for parts).

I thought I'd bring this thread up again. After my roll last summer most of my hoop set was crushed, I was able to find some new pieces and straighten some out. However I am still looking for the the first hoop, the one with the tabs that the gutters bolt onto.
Thanks!
