Gearbox and Transfer box fluid volume

The green bible says transfer box needs 4.5 pints and gearbox needs 2.5 pints of gear oil.

Are these UK pints or US liquid pints?

Sorry for the silly question;, but if they are UK then it would be a bit more than one gallon while US liquid pints would be 0.85 gallons.

Don't want to screw considering all the work that went in the rebuild.

Also from what I can tell, the recommended oil is non synthetic EP90 wt GL4.

Hmmm... You must be thinking of the old Imperial gallon measurement. A pint is a pint and it is 16 fluid oz. or .125 of a gallon and a gallon being 128 fluid oz. You need 72 fluid oz. in the transfer and 40 fluid oz. in the gearbox. Or, 3 1/2 quarts total. Don't be afraid to use synthetic, just get the EP 90 eqivilelent and enjoy somewhat quieter and smoother shifing. Be sure to be on level ground and fill them right up to the bottom of the filler holes.

One imperial pint is equal to 1.2 US. So 4.5 is 86.46 fl.US oz.
And 2.5 is 48 fl oz US.
And Stalube Makes GL4 85/90W

Does it really matter? Just get a gallon of Sta-Lube GL4, the Sta-lube pump and fill each filler opening until the oil starts to come out the filler opening.

If you are pumping out of a gallon container you cant tell if you have 2.5 UK pints or 2.5 US pints
