I think that is somewhat determined by the bulkhead location. The 109 behind the seat bulkhead sits farther back than the 88 behind the seat bulkhead.

If you have an 88 I would say no. With a 109 regular, maybe.

I was concerned that the Defender seat frame is taller than a Series seat frame so I built a hybrid seat for my 109 regular. I used my Series seat bottoms with a flat adapter to fit Defender seat bottoms. For the backs I had new seat back frames welded to the bottom part of the Series seat back. The end result is Defender cushions in the Series locations taking up no additional space that I could identify. I'm really happy with what I ended up with.
