Solex accelerator diaphragm sought

It sure seems like the cards are stacked against me to get this old carb up and running. I have found some fuel resistant diaphragm material, but wonder how it will perform, being that it is not "dished" like the OE one is.

1. Does anyone know of replacement accelerator pumps for the 40PA carb? I've not found any.
2. Has anyone had experience fabricating an accelerator pump from flat material?
