My 109 fired up for the first time in 25 years today. This truck is new to me. Rebuilt head, new brakes / hydraulics / lines, some new seals, the complete setup of hoses, you name it. The sound was nice to hear after months of work.
The question is regarding the original Solex that I rebuilt.
1. Is the injector tube (J shaped tube pointed down the carb throat), supposed to deliver fuel with each stroke of the accelerator pump?
2. With no choke plate, the "starter" assembly on the side of the carb is a bit of a mystery. Yes, it is electrically heated, and cable controlled, but Im not seeing how it can choke off air, or act as an enrichment device to add more fuel. Thoughts?
