I updated my 2a a few years back with a what was supposed to be a rebuilt Series 3 Transmission. As soon as it left my garage it started making a ginding noise when I let off the throttle going faster than 30 mph. If i'm cruising and don't let off the throttle real fast I don't get any noise. I pulled the transmission and replaced the throwout bearing. It blew out about 300' down the road. I don't imagine there is a simple fix without tearing the transmission apart but i figured i'd ask.

What was it that blew out 300' down the road?

What's in the oil when you drain it through a screen?

Is the special nut on the shaft behind the PTO cover properly tightened and locked?

What do you see when you pop off the shifter cover?

Those are all questions I'd be asking if I were to delve into this...

My throwout bearing blew out as soon as I left the garage.
Nothing to speak of in the gear oil when I drained it. Should I go ahead and unbolt the cover anyways?
I'm not exactly sure what nut you are speaking of behind the pto cover. It'll be unbolted by the time you read this.
