Folks,
I've been informed a Series with some unique history was taken, without consent, from premises in Portland, Oregon.
Here's the message :-
Les,
Could you please post this on Rovers North website? This Rover was stolen from my home in NW Portland on 9/19. Doug Shipman is aware that it is stolen and I am trying to get the word out as far and wide as possible. The truck was originally from Syosset L.I. N.Y. where it was used as a drilling rig in the 60's and 70's. in the late 70's it was acquired by Franklin Simpkins, who rebuilt it from the ground up straightening many of the original body panels and making new ones himself. Franklin drove this vehicle across the country in the early 80's making the trip to Portland in three days. It is a very well known Rover in the Pacific NW and I hate the idea of it being parted out and it's history lost. Thank you so much.
