Very Nice! However, I believe that the grille and bulkhead are from a Series III.....

I agree w/ Ted...looks to be a III. Have you researched the SN?

To rebuild or upgrade...I supose that depends on the intended use and depth of your wallet. Personally I'm one for keeping things original & simple. Not really sure if I would want to do more than 50mph in one of these ole beasts!

While the "H" registration suggests its a 1968 it is a series 3 so it has to be newer than 1971 as 71 was the last year of the 2a's. There are so many things that say series 3.

Very possible that it could be both...stranger things have happened.

The dash, windshield where it attaches to the bulkhead, the hinges and the grill all point towards a 3. The only way you will really know is to check the SN. It could very easily have be rebuilt using S3 bits though. Does it have a full syncromesh transmission?

Wow that was certainly a very quick frame swap, paint job and detail though! Looks good.

No, only 3 and 4 are synched.

Thank you about the work. My first rover project. The learning curve is/was steep!

Hello
as most comments had lead to it being a III. I would agree. The dash and bulk head are giveaways. The engine also looks Series III
But, the synched should be first and second also. If not, then the trans is from a II.
I have a 71 IIA, so I do know how they drive! I would double check the shifting again. Check the VIN.
Nice project, good luck.
