the search for a six cylinder for a 68 109 would begin..

my new years resolution is to be the new guy with all the questions
She originally came with a six cylinder and I want to bring it back.
Where would be the best place to start looking for one as close to original as possible

Ike at pangolin4x4.com just posted a photo of a truck with one. Maybe he is yanking it. Might want to call him to discuss.

Stomper thanks again. Spoke to Ike and he has a euro 6 cylinder not an NADA. Price is more than fair so my question is there much of a difference between the euro and the nada?

          Yes,
the cylinder head is different. The intake is different, the carb is different, the air filter assembly is different. I would not put a euro six in place of a NADA six if you are seeking originality.

The guy Robert Davis who makes the merc diesel kits has a bunch of 2.6s at his shop in VA I believe. Look him up, he was selling a full NADA 6 a while ago. Was Ike selling that euro 6? I need a dizzy.

Did cornflakes get a new website? I'll be interested to hear what he thinks a NADA 6 cylinder is worth.

While most Land Rover folk are true gentlemen, and are honest in their transactions, It always is sound advice to know who you are dealing with, and what their reputation is. I would happily endorse singingcamel as an honest person to deal with. I won't say anything negative, but I think if you read between the lines here, you will catch my drift. The search feature on this site and on others will reveal all.

A certain someone who has been mentioned in this thread used to sell (probably still does) Defender parts from surplus Canadian Army vehicles that were used for target practice. A general customer service policy of "suck it" prevails. Caveat Emptor.

Dare Brittania seems to be the new name of British Northwest Land-Rover Co. Looks like Land Rover forced his hand:

                              Note especially paragraph 23:
"Moreover, being linked with British [Northwest Land-Rover Co.] in the public’s perception can only cause injury to Land Rover’s goodwill, in light of the reputation for poor customer service and dishonest practices that Defendants have developed in the marketplace."
