Correct Gearbox / Transfer Case Oil - Lightweight

What is the correct oil to use for the gearbox and transfer case for a Series III Lightweight?

I can't seem to find this info in the users manual.

    Thanks.

90 weight was the factory recommendation for S2a and S3 boxes (should be the same for a lightweight). I couldn't find straight 90, so I use 85w90.

I used to use a multi-grade Lucas 85w90 for quite a while but then found a 5 gal pail of straight 90w GL-4. It has actually slowed down my transmission leaks.

            I've also used 85w140 a lot.

I have used just about anything that reads "gear oil" on the bottle and they all work well for me. Found the expensive ones just cost more to top off as it leaks out
