When I bought my 1973 Series III 88 in 1993 it had a crack in the web between cylinders 1 & 2. It ran but had no power so when took off the head to trouble shoot the nosie I found the crack and put it back together. I replaced the engine with a used one from a 1965 series and have been moving this with me for the last 20 years. I am getting ready to move again and my wife does not want to move it again.

It is free to anyone who is willing to come by and pick it up. It is complete from valve cover to oil pan. It has no manafolds and no water pump (used toreplace a bad onon the 1965 engine)

I am located in the West Houston Texas area.

Respond if interested as I do want to send it to a junk dealer if someone has a need for it.

I would take the head if it comes to that.

I got rid of the engine but decided to keep the head I will rebuild it and us it to replace my 7:1 head in the future. It has what ooks like exhaust cutting between 1 and 2 so it will need to be machined down. As I understand it the ax yu can take off is .020 and that will take it to about 9:1.

TeriAnn's site has specific info on head shaving specs. Not sure of the address off the top of my head, but google "Teriann" along with "land rover" and you'll find it.
