This year’s Maritime Organization of Rover Enthusiasts annual Labour Day rally is moving to the South Shore. Blockhouse to be specific.

Rover owners and keeners throughout the Maritimes, New England, points west and internationally are welcome.

On the catering side, to help make the planning and arrangements as simple as possible for all concerned, meal options will be simple, but delicious, and there will be plenty of food for everyone. While Nick is promising to treat everyone to one of his superb curries, honed from years living in Africa.

Members are welcome to camp. Tents can be pitched amongst the apple trees and fields fringed by towering evergreens and maple trees. Trailers can also be accommodated. For those who would prefer a bed and breakfast, hotel or motel, we’ll a list of recommended accommodations is posted with the Registration materials, http://www.maritimerovers.org/labour_day_registration.html

As always, the 2013 Labour Day Rally is to be a family event, and we’re inviting Rover enthusiasts of all ages to join in the camaraderie and challenges. For non-off roaders, there are plenty of adventures off-off-road, with picturesque Mahone Bay and Lunenburg (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), only about 10-15 minutes away. Whale watching tours depart from both port towns. There’s a kayaking and canoeing service in Mahone Bay (run by our very own MORE member Patrick South). Meanwhile, antique shops, flea markets and yard sales are prolific every sunny summer weekend. A little further afield are The Ovens and the treasures of Oak Island, which stand in testimony to Nova Scotia’s rich and colorful heritage.

We look forward to having you join us. Register at http://www.maritimerovers.org/labour_day_registration.html
