I am setting up the brake servo on a Series III 2.25 that was converted to diesel. I have seen the posts about the difficulty of proper butterfly linkage setup, but want to give it a try. My butterfly valve is intact but does not have a hose barb or port for a vacuum hose. However, there is a port at the rear end of the manifold (near the firewall) with a vacuum hose connected to the cap on the rocker cover. I am wondering if it would work to put a T into that existing vacuum hose, connect one side of that T to the rocker cover, and connect the other side of the T to the vacuum reservoir and the servo. Does this sound like it would create problems? Not sure why it would sense this setup would resemble the stock setup by having the vacuum downstream of the butterfly but upstream of the cylinder head and the rocker cap.
