    Thread size for sender unit.

    what is the tread size for the oil pressure sending unit?
    1984 D-90 Tdi
    71 IIa 88 Perkins Prima Powered
    1995 D-90 SW Tdi #413
    No Gas burner Here............

    3/16 straight thread, i think

    try a 3/16 straight thread flare fitting.

    I was in a rush and drilled mine out and put in a 1/8 NPT. worked...for now.

      I would guess that its a 1/8" british pipe tapered thread.

      thats the same as 1/8 " american thread, but its one thread per inch difference (28tpi instead of 27tpi).

      You can usually get away with putting a 1/8" male american pipe into a female british pipe thread hole, but not the other way around.

        straight thread

        i'm certain it is a straight thread. i just dont know which thread designation. go to hardware store and get a 3/16 -45 deg flare fitting.

          I purchased a replacement Rover unit but it didn't tighten. I ended up getting an adapter from NAPA which was more tapered and tightened nicely. Not more leak.
