I'm rebuilding my Tex Magna Lite flasher. While bench testing the unit, I couldn't get the light on the unit to come on and flash unless I hooked it directly to the green/red wire, or the green/white wire. then it would come on and flash along with the turn signal light. According to my wiring diagram, the black/red wire powers the bulb from the P post on the Lucas three post flasher unit. Could I have a bad flasher unit?

I think I have a bad flasher. With the indicator flashing the turn signal, there is no power to the P post on the flasher unit. Confirmed with a test light. What are my flasher unit options? Thank you.Doug

The #550 three prong flasher should work just fine. The NAPA part number is NF 550, but a similar part should be available from any of the good auto parts places. The three prong flashers were used in a number of early applications including the hazard flashers on late '60s early '70 MGs and Triumphs and turn signals on TR3s and early TR4s.

On a IIA it's behind the instrument panel where the gauges are. It should be mounted on the firewall.1967 IIA 109 Regular RHD
