1963 88" 2.25 petrolLand Rover Series IIa
This vehicle has LOTS of potential!
Chassis is mostly good (except the rear frame member... which I have one that will go with the vehicle)
Firewall (Bulkhead) needs repair. (mostly around the top hinges)
Warn freewheeling hubs.
4 cyl petrol engine, runs well.
New coil, water pump, hoses, coolant, oil & filter
Has negative earth dash & speedo.
Alternator conversion.
Has a Superwinch overdrive
Has a Tuffy security console cubby box with radio (no key for box and not sure if radio works)
Needs brake and clutch work, I installed a new clutch master cyl.... needs the slave cyl replaced
(which I will also supply along with a new "tin can" reservoir for clutch and brakes)
Brakes dont work.... could be Master cyl, wheel cyls or brake line (have not diagnosed it)
This LR will need to be towed from it's location.
Needs some wiring completed and interior bits.
I have 90w gear oil for Trans / Transfer & Axles (also supplied)
Springs look ok
Previous owner had it painted yellow... looks good from a distance :)
He also had body filler skimmed over it (must be he didn't like the looks of rivets or any "character"
the panels might have had. (I see no big dents or damage that was repaired)
I was going to paint it military flat green but now need to sell it (my loss)
I have a bunch of pics that I can email.
Canvas has a couple minor holes in it (easy fix) windows are fine.
Breaks my heart to have to sell.... but "gotta do what 'cha gotta do" :(
This 88" is in Wylie TX (20 miles NE of Dallas)

Good starter package for an enthusiast. All the best with the sale. Too far for me to come and fetch it though !

Les, is this the yellow fellow you owned a while back?

Yes, indeed. Its gone South for the Winter, the frame, other than the rear x-member is good. I have too many projects and I am "slimming the herd". Made time and room for the Austin A35 in the yard, plus a rebuild of 9 TEA, though I am retiring that plate this year :(

Nice, I didn't think it was possible to have too many projects!

I agree with Les, this is a great truck to start with. Sounds like it has good bones...the rest is what makes these fun to develop and then execute the build.
