    Lost Man Card

So, I change the oil and sump gasket on my IIA Ex-MOD. I ask the bride of 28 years if she wants to go for a little trip to test everything out. Along the way, the rig dies in the middle of the road. Engine turns, but won't start. I frantically turn and and push knobs, even the window washer. I mention the Weber carb must be fouled up. I push the gas pedal and push and turn more knobs. Finally, the spouse flips the knob over to the left tank. Off we go.

There might be a chance you will be allowed to keep it - the positive is that you didn't ask for help, so the review board may be lenient. Especially if you pretended that it was a combination of the switchover and the other things you tried

You're just giving her a false sense of control of what's about to come with series ownership! Nice tactic!

I think you should be OK on keeping your Man Card, since you've told the world about your lapse of critical thinking. Such things happen to most of us, we just don't tell anyone about it.
