245/70/16. Would this size tire work well on a 109?

Thanks to all. The tires were free for a reason. So we need 4 or 5. 235/85/16 radial highway tires. We do not a mud and snow tread.
New England preferred. Will pay fair price.

The standard factory tyre diameter for a 109 is 32 inches. The 109 One Ton came with 35 inch dia tyres standard. 88s came either with 28 inch dia tyres or 32 inch dia tyres.

Yes there were other sizes, but these are the generally accepted "standard" sizes. Military and special spec vehicles were built to contract and might have anything.

It is of course important to purchase a tyre that is specified for use with the width of the rims you have. Beware of buying used tyres because they do deteriorate over time and many companies will not mount tyres that are over 10 years old, considering them unsafe for road use.

There are a lot of manufacturers and tyre sizes out there. Just find one witht the tread you want, in the diameter you want and is is designed to fit the width of your wheels.
