I'm doing a frame swap on my 1966 IIa 88" ... recently I did the rear main seal.. when I was putting the flywheel and clutch back on, I noticed this part nearby... I can't figure out where it goes though, or if it just happened to end up in that pile and is for something else.. It's approximately 106mm (~4") in diameter.

Thanks in advance!

Looks like the flange plate for the steering relay mount on bottom of front crossmember.

Ahh! That would make sense as the last thing we tried to do before putting the new frame on was to unsuccessfully remove the steering relay (apparently that's a lot easier when you still have the weight of the body and drivetrain on the chassis).

Thank you!

the bottom steering relay retainer only has 4 holes from what I recall. It would look like this without the center portion.

You're right... I found the part (217694) and it doesn't have that center part:

I'll have to take another look at the part when I get home and see if that center part looks like it's a separate piece... I think I still have parts of the steering relay laying around, so I can also see if it fits.

After looking at this again I think it is the relay part with the bottom seal of the relay in the center, Ie two pieces not one.
