I am working of retrofitting the original heater duct / matrix to my bugeye. The bulkhead is from a SII so does not have the cutout for the heater box/matrix. I would like to get the location correct so if could someone could get me some pictures and measurements of the location o this penetration it would be VERY helpful.

wow nice truck. The pictures help but a few measurements would be great. The SII bulkhead I retrofitting is not the same as the 69 one enough that I can't match picture to it. Could you get the measurements in the picture below. tHANKS, bOB

Bob:

I'm on this for you tomorrow. I know I'm late. Will post here and do my best. Wish I had known when I had the heater box out a few weeks ago!!

if you can just get the ones from inside of cab will work just fine. That is where I will be cutting from.
THANKS!!

Sorry for the delay siii8873. I made a quick trip to hike the Narrows up in Zion this week.

On my truck, the hole is exactly 7 3/4" from the outside face of the footwell.
The cut out dimensions are 9" x 5 1/4".
From the top lip of the footwell panel to the top of the cut out is 5/8".
It is hard to measure the bottom but it appears to be centered vertically so that would leave 5/8" from the bottom of the cut out to the bend in the footwell.

As with pretty much everything else on these trucks, there is no need to be overly concerned with tolerances. Your gasket will close up the gaps if there are any.

I hope this gets you back on track. Holler if you need more.

So "A" dimension is 7 3/4" and "B" is 5/8".

So I had very similar

Hole was 8 3/4 by 5 1/4. The longer of the two was hard to measure because my duct work was in the way.

I have kick panel trim so I had to guess from the right. My number was 7 and 10/16
From the left, also guessing due to trim. I guessed 6 and 10/16

From the bottom, I had a half inch. Same challenge as bugeye - I'm measuring from the bend.

bugeye's advice is good. Approximate is ok as the mating of the interior duct work allows for some play. Use a foam seal (air conditioning foam cut to fit will be fine) to seal the connection. You can see the foam pad in my pics.

Some pictures - sorry they are sideways. No idea why

Good point lumpydog. The flex hose will not care if you are off one way or another.

Hope to see some pics of your install siii8873.

Thanks for all the info. It'll be a little while before I do this install. Also need to locate air duct but that should be fairly straight forward after placing the heater box.
Thanks again, I'll post some pics after done with it.

installed the heater box this week. Now I need to relocate the blower motor housing , tries to occupy same space as the heater box :-)

The blower motor mounts in the four holes, to the left of your heater box in your first picture. They should fit side by side.

blower motor will not fit located where the holes are in pic, it hits heater box. I located the holes you see patterened from the original bulkhead.
