Series 2a engine / trans / transfer swap

Hey guys.

My 68 2a (88) project will have a 300tdi motor, R380 5 speed and LT230 transfer case.
Does anyone have experience with this group? I am trying to determine how many mods I should expect with this.
Also looking for a Los Angeles mechanic to help do it.

Expect to change everything that touches the drivetrain

-mounts
-park brake
-driveshafts
-cooling system
-exhaust
-wiring
-fuel system
-etc

Ask Peter at Marina Motors on Lincoln Blvd but you may have to go out of state.

Ok, great.
I have spoken to Peter. He's not sure if he's into the project.
I have new motor mounts and cooling system. I didn't know about the drive shafts or parking brake. Guess the brake makes sense...

Why a 300 Tdi in particular? In many ways a 200 tdi is a superior choice, especially in a Series.

I'll turn that back around and ask why you think a 300 is better? And don't say because it is 100 more.
They are virtually identical engines.
