You can still pick up NOS S3 radiator grills. Maybe costs less than the effort to remove paint from an old one?

The effort is not a big deal - there are only a few layers - Don't think the industrial stuff I used to remove the layers of MOD paint would be smart to use on the plastic, or would brake fluid - I wonder about the Citrus based removers? Ideas?

I've heard citristrip is pretty forgiving and very gentle. You could try it on a very small area first to see the results.

I still the better idea is to fit a new grille. Any efforts will not bring back the "newness" of the original finish.
