With this weather I wound up in the garage preparing for spring cleaning. Unfortunately, the 2.25L diesel pulled from my SIII 109 is keeping the other vehicle out and it needs to go away. Can someone tell me the best site to post this engine to sell?

Well, aside from this passive-agressive sales ad, you can try Guns and Rovers, Defender source, Discoweb and most any of the club sites will allow you to post it up.

Without too much heartburn I would take it to the scrap yard. I hate to throw away Rover parts, but if any Rover parts deserve to die it's the much hated 2.25 diesel.
I highly doubt that anyone would actually want to put it in a truck, much less pay for it, but what do I know.

Unfortunately you failed to ask for one. Had you, you might have gotten more that you bargained for.

I like the 2.25D - very economical. When they are good they are surprisingly powerful - 65 mph in an 88 or 109 regular is pretty easy. Most of them are pretty worn out at this point and people object to spending 4-6K to rebuild one. My 300tdi and 2.8TDGV do not feel 50 years more advanced . . . . Put it on ebay/craigslist/guns and rovers/local rover club website - don't scrap it though - there are still some folks who like them and would rather repair things than throw them away.

We still get enquiries from folks looking for them. Let us know.
