Hello All,
In the hopes of warmer weather and a bit of down time, I am getting ready to change out all the fluids on my '73 Ex-Mod, but want to make sure I have enough oil as I am relying solely on the Rover and am pretty remotely situated right now. The Civilian 2.25 takes about 6 1/2 qts of oil, but does anyone know how much more I would need to account for the oil cooler? Once I drain it I probably can't get anywhere for a few days...
Thanks

This is a complete guess on my part but the oil cooler pipes are kind of big. I think I would get at least 9 or 10 total. Better to have too much than not enough.

Someone here knows it down to the nearest cc I'm sure.

Imagine taking a funnel and filling up the oil cooler and lines with oil; Probably a quart. Maybe a quart and a half.

Unless you disconnect everything, your chances of draining much of the oil out of the oil cooler system is pretty slim. At least that was my experience with the 2.5 MoD cooler setup.
